your questions.
Footscray Park
Event date and time: Sunday 16
Aug, 2026 | 10am–3pm
Where it all began – our original campus, right by the
Maribyrnong River.
Best for you if you want to check out health, education, sports, science and
biomedicine, engineering,
trades, hospitality or arts at Open Day.
VU City Tower
Event date and time: Sunday 30
Aug, 2026 | 10am–3pm
Our newest VU campus – and the largest vertical university
campus in the
country. Best for you if you want to check out business, law, osteopathy, dermal
science,
hairdressing, beauty or massage at Open Day.
Both our Open Day events are 100% free! We recommend taking public transport where
possible, as both
Footscray Park campus and VU City Tower are easily accessible by train.
There is no on-site parking for the city event, but if you’re driving to
Footscray, we do have
designated carpark areas as well as accessible parking available. Check out the
getting here section
and our maps for full details.
And don’t forget, our friendly VU team will be on hand to direct you as soon as
you arrive at
our events – and they’ll also let you know where to grab your freebies!
Can I apply for a course on the day?
Ready to kick start your future? You can absolutely apply direct at VU Open Day – and
you could leave
with your next step locked in. We can assess your course application, help you apply
for credits on
the spot, and even issue you a Conditional Offer*.
If you’ve done any study already, just make sure you bring copies of your
academic transcript, course completion certificate, and your CV!
If you’re a current high school student, you can also apply right then and
there for our VU
Early Entry program. Our Early Entry team will be on hand to answer your questions,
give you the
rundown on how membership will give you a big head start (and heaps of perks) – and
walk you through
your application with 1:1 guidance.
*A Conditional Offer is not a full course offer, you’ll still need
to meet any relevant criteria or pre-requisites (all the conditions) before your
place in a course is finalised.
What questions should I ask on the day?
Whatever you’ve been wondering about uni, TAFE, studying or life post-high
school – or anything
you want to know if you’ve got a dream course in mind! We’ll have
experts on hand ready to
give you advice on courses, careers, and pathways. You could come prepared with
questions for our
students and teachers like:
What is the best thing about studying at VU?
What is the VU Block Model and how will it help me?
What support systems are available if I need them?
Do I get to do internships or work placements?
How will studying at VU help me graduate employable?

Baffling Content)? Don’t stress: just check out our quick guide to uni lingo (opens in a new

in between. Plus at Open Day, our team will be on hand to help with any explainers

grants to go
towards your studies! You just need to register for VU Open Day, check in at the
event on the day, and
be enrolled in your VU course by February 2027 – and we’ll do the rest.
After our Open Day events, we’ll draw five winners and let the lucky attendees
know. If you win
and commence your VU course next year by February, we’ll apply the grant
directly to your course
fees. Entry is only open for Australian citizens or permanent residents
